SUN Area Technical Institute (SUN Tech) is a leading career and technical education (CTE) center located in New Berlin, Pennsylvania. The institute provides hands-on, industry-focused training to both high school seniors and adult learners, equipping students with the skills, certifications, and knowledge necessary for success in today’s workforce.
SUN Tech partners with surrounding school districts—including Lewisburg, Mifflinburg, Midd-West, Selinsgrove, and Shikellamy—to offer students specialized programs that align with local, regional, and national workforce demands. These programs span a wide range of career fields, from skilled trades and advanced manufacturing to healthcare, technology, and service industries.
Each program is designed to give students a competitive edge by combining rigorous academic instruction with practical, real-world experiences. Graduates leave SUN Tech prepared to enter the workforce immediately in high-demand industries or to continue their education at a college, university, or technical school. In addition, many programs provide opportunities for students to earn industry-recognized certifications, apprenticeships, and cooperative education experiences, further enhancing career readiness.

SUN Area Technical Institute recognized the need to update its program brochures, which are essential for recruitment and providing prospective students with clear, informative program details. I was responsible not only for refreshing the existing program cards but also for designing new ones for recently added CTE programs, as well as for the Adult Education, Cooperative Education, and Math departments.
SUN Area Technical Institute recognized the need to update its program brochures, which are essential for recruitment and providing prospective students with clear, informative program details. I was responsible not only for refreshing the existing program cards but also for designing new ones for recently added CTE programs, as well as for the Adult Education, Cooperative Education, and Math departments.
Using Adobe Illustrator, I created polished, visually engaging recruitment cards, printed and finalized on-site at SUN Area Technical Institute. Each card highlights program-specific information aligned with the PA Bureau of Career and Technical Education (BCTE), High Priority Occupations (HPO), and PA In-Demand Occupations List (IDOL) to ensure students and parents have access to relevant, up-to-date career information.

Using professional design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and other graphic elements, I create visually engaging layouts that balance aesthetics with clear, informative content. I manage every aspect of the publication, from content creation and design to distribution, ensuring that each edition effectively communicates important information to school districts, industry partners, students, and other stakeholders.

These showcases feature physical items that represent each CTE program, along with new visual elements created by Abigail Eichner. Prior to this update, no infographics or posters provided detailed explanations of each program or the school. Now, with the addition of these visually engaging posters and small informational cards, each program is clearly outlined, enhancing recruitment efforts and making program information more accessible to students and community members.
